Apologies for absence had been received from Cllrs Beale, Stansfield and
Bowditch.
- Signing of Planning Minutes of 24 April 2007
Following approval, the minutes were signed by the Chairman as a true
record.
- Removal of Existing Signal Controlled Pedestrian Crossing, High Street,
Billericay approximately 30 metres south of the south side of junction of High
Street/Norsey Road and Western Road , Billericay
The letter dated 23 April 2007 from Essex County Council inviting comments
was received and discussed. The proposal to remove the existing signal
controlled pedestrian crossing was unanimously supported.
RECOMMENDED: The clerk to reply to Essex County Council accordingly.
The letter to request that whilst making necessary cabling and signaling
alterations, provision is made for phasing of the lights to enable one-way
working for the planned Norsey Road traffic experiment to go ahead.

The Chairman and Committee answered questions from members of the public
regarding the Town Council’s and Basildon District Council’s role in the
planning procedure.
There being no further business, the Chairman closed the meeting at 8.30 pm.
